Hyper Surreal Fractalic Mystical Chess - My Masterpieces is a project I have been subconsciously working on since I started exploring the cosmos of 3D fractals in 2010. I have always admired Max Ernsts, Marcel Duchamps and Dalís sets, but I wanted a set which was more true to the original idea of surrealism. With the help of 3D fractals and 3D printing I could make it a reality.

To construct the pieces I have been using the very best of my artworks,
my masterpieces, from a period of over 4 years.

The full set is a play in 7 acts about humanity, the evolution and the quest for knowledge through enlightenment and superfluity until the day when mankind finally became the plague of the planet.
* Each piece has its own character and story.
* Each piece is a piece of art in itself.
* Each piece has a (surreal) resemblance to a standard chess set.
* The pieces are robust, not hollowed and light like many 3D printed objects.

Tycho Brahes Cosmological Cranium comes in two versions (one for each side of the King and Queen), this one ( The Bishop I ) with a "hidden" pure 3D mandelbulb fractal on a cosmographic suspension device.
And The Bishop II, mirrored with a pure 3D mandelbox fractal on a similar cosmographic suspension device.

Each piece bears my signature underneath the bottom plate, if you buy the complete chess set (piece by piece or all 32 pieces at once) you will recieve a hand signed certificate of authenticity if you send me your address and a proof of purchase in a PM.

You will need one white and one black Bishop I ( and one white and one black Bishop II) for the Chess set. On the photos the pieces are on a board with 5 x 5cm (2 x 2 inch) squares, it works, but 6 x 6cm (2,4 x 2,4 inch) squares would be preferred. I am working on designing a 3D printed board.
