Cicada Nymph Skeleton

The husk of a cicada's nymph in complete skeletal form. As they shed their skin, cicadas leave their old exoskeletons behind, this sculpture captures a blend between an exoskeleton and a vertebrate endoskeleton. The hole in the back where the cicada escapes from is left open, perfect to fit a small air plant (Tillandsia) and create a living sculpture on your desk or hanging from a wall.

The model is very thin, yet sturdy and flexible. Details are fantastic, and the natural texture of the 3d printing process gives it a bone-like appearance that works wonders.
