Celtic Infinity Knot Ring Size 12.5

This is a Celtic knot ring. It has a series of figure eight patterns, six in all. It is also close to a series of "infinity" symbols. It is also sometimes called the "Celtic Eternity Knot Ring". This has been purchased by many people who use it as a men's wedding band, but it can be used for any occasion. I made this one because I wanted to see if I could wrap around a fairly complex pattern into a ring. I was inspired by a wedding ring that I saw and I really liked the simplicity of it.

The infinity symbol is used in mathematics. Leonhard Euler is credited with inventing a symbol for infinity that is a lot like the one we use now. Variations of this symbol are often used in jewelry. You find them on wedding rings or bands to symbolize the eternal bond of marriage. There are two other very similar concepts in math and art: the Mobius strip and the ouroboros. The ouroboros is a drawing of a snake eating its’ tail. The snake can be shown in a figure 8 pattern in these pictures, like the infinity knot.

The circle of the ring itself of course is another symbol for eternity or eternal love. This is the original concept behind the wedding ring.
