Early Exocet/Seacat Fit Leander Conversion Kit 1/600 Version 2. This is a conversion kit designed for the Airfix 1/600 Scale Leander Frigate that was sold either individually or in the Falklands Warships Set. Please note. This Conversion kit is suitable for F28 HMS Cleopatra, F42 HMS Pheobe, and F45 HMS Minerva. These frigates had the forwards extension to the top of the foremast. Contained on the sprue are the forward Exocet mounting containg Four Four Shot Exocet Canisters, Seacat Launcher, Winch, and Early type blast deflector shields. Blanking plates for both the Limbo and VDS wells. Replacement main mast, including the 965 Radar. Replacement Bridge with the forward Director. Two STWS triple barrel torpedo tube launchers.Two Life raft canisters on racks. 27ft Whaler and Cheverton launch with davits, although rope is not supplied. Corvus chaff launchers on platforms, although the supporting legs are not supplied. Bofors also on platforms, this time barrels are not supplied. Two seacat launchers minus missiles, with the correct bases for this fit, on the extended hanger roof. Two scott dome ariels on the early type platforms, and Scott Coms Cabin. Two small ammunition lockers, for the bofors. Two five bladed propellers and shaft supports. Fairleads and Roller Fairleads. Four Standard, and Two Roller. Three Winches, and a Capstan to complete the aft deck. Also a Westland Lynx helicopter without rotors. It is suggested that missing parts too small or thin to be printed correctly can be scratch built, sourced from Photo Etch retailer, or the kit parts reused. ie gun barrels. This conversion kit obviously contains small parts, and is not suitable for children. Some previous modeling experience is necessary, and great care must be taken while removing componants from the sprue. Due to size of the parts, this is only available in Frosted Ultra Detail material.
