This car is based on the QTTX 130550 series of heavy duty depressed center flat cars.
It's made in three pieces - the two end span bolster units to which the trucks are attached, and the main load bed. This model is designed so that you can rail the bolster units separately, then just drop the center section on top of them.
The center has a well for a piece of 3/8 x 1/16th brass bar stock to give the whole car more weight. This is dropped in on top of the car to preclude any possibility of the weight shorting out on uneven trackwork. Once it's glued in place, either putty over it to smooth it in, or just cover it with a piece of thin paper or plastic.
