Proposed night fighter variant of the tandem engined Do 335 heavy fighter. Strictly the term 'Ameisenbär' (Anteater) applied to the two seater trainer (with an almost identical configuration) but I thought it would be more appropriate than using the single seater's name 'Pfeil' (Arrow).
The first Do 335 prototype flew in 1943 and proved to be extremely fast and much more manoeuvrable than other heavy fighter designs and it was accepted for mass production. Allied bombing raids and internal politics delayed production and by the end of the war only a handful of aircraft had made their way to combat trials.
The spherical recess underneath the model is for mounting it on a 6mm BB.
