The U.S. M1 75mm Pack Howitzer was a highly portable artillery piece used in throughout World War 2 and in numerous conflicts to follow by U.S. forces and their allies. Referred to as a "pack" howitzer, this designation meant that it could be disassembled into six individual pieces each of which was capable of being transported by a pack mule. Due to it's light weight and hollow frame construction, it was favored by highly mobile units like the U.S. airborne and the British Red Devils. It could be carried in a glider as well as dropped by parachute from an airplane. They were also commonly towed by jeeps.
