Fender Bender Bracelet

From the designer: 

"I believe it is essential to explore methods for combining the analogue and the digital in order to create a personal, one-of-a-kind visual language and to give a human touch to digitally manufactured goods. My aim is to create a situation similar to traditional handcraft sculpting. Using a digital physics simulation, I model the process of a collision of two objects. The digital physicality creates a similar behaviour of the material as if we would work on it with our hands, including randomness and unpredictability. Each time during the collision, the material will react differently in time and space.,Being sculpted by hand and finally frozen in one specific moment, the signature of the creator will be written into the piece. Each repetition of the experiment would result in an individual, unique appearance of the jewelry design. ... [This bracelet consists] of two different types of virtual materials colliding: Rigid rails are punching into a plain surface, causing it to wrinkle, squeeze and deform as it would be made out of fabric creating a distinctive texture."
