The power button prongs on these wonderful headphones fail often. It happened to me twice - the first time I was lucky as I was still under warranty. The second time I wasn't as lucky. This is a replacement part that will keep your LG HBS-700 (or LG HBS-730) going for a while longer in case your power button switch brakes.
The only plastic material that can be printed at the resolution required to reproduce the original button are the
Frosted Ultra Detail and the
Frosted Extreme Detail- this is why these are the only materials available to print.
Also I have 4 buttons in the design as this adds only a few cents to the cost of the part and you get 4x as many components.
To replace the button you can go to any of the many Youtube videos that show how to take apart these headphones (for example
this one) and follow the instructions. Basically there's one screw that holds the plastic cover together and 5 plastic clips that need to be pried open. Once you do that remove the broken button and replace it with the printed one. When braking the printed button off the central plastic holder use your nail to scrape the top of it to remove any tiny plastic tabs left.
That's it. I appreciate any feedback you might have.
NOTE: My headphones are quite banged as I had to open them many times during the prototyping stage of the button. When you open your headphones there are 5 plastic clips that you have to gently pry open in addition to the screw at the end of the case. I marked the position of the clips for your reference on one of the images attached to this post.
