When forced to bargain for her friend's lives with Lord Tirek by giving up her and the Princesses' Alicorn Magic, Twilight forgives Discord for his previous treason and includes Discord in her bargain. In return, the penitent Discord gifts her a medallion originally belonging to Lord Tirek's brother, Scorpan. This medallion served as the sixth and final key, transforming into the Key of Friendship and allowing Twilight Sparkle and her friends to open the chest at the Tree of Harmony and imprison Lord Tirek once again.
