Subsequently, the BR-1 Heavy was born. With its primary military role as a heavy bomber in atmospheric runs it was given the extended flight control surface ring to compensate for ordinance mass . It currently pulls double duty in the civilian fleet as a robust cargo carrier although the hull still retains its defensive beam nodes. Engines were overhauled from the extended IV Series ensuring adequate thrust even with a full payload and it has retained the Slipstream's overall encompassed hull design making it an extremely durable, solid ship.
