Zygmunt's Cube is based on an idea by Zygmunt Kurczewski. Zygmunt suggested a 2x2x2 cube with an additional 12 edge pairs, each of which could rotate by 180 degrees. Oskar modified Zygmunt's idea to make it look like a 4x4x4 cube, using the same cutting trick that he used for
Oh Cube. Experts may recognize that this puzzle could be considered a bandaged version of Mike Armbrust's
Rubik's 4x4x4 with a partial twist, which you can buy at
Mike's Shapeways Shop.
