The Elegant Dog (5.7in - 15cm long)

The Elegant Dog, inspired by Jun, a smart Great Danish i had some years ago. This was her face during...well, I'm sure you can figure it out from her pose. I titled my sculpture The Elegant Dog because I feel that my dog were always elegant and nice, even when she was "performing". Unlucky she's no more with me now... Thinking about her, i mostly remember she in this attitude, performing one of her favourite thing. Expecially after eating a lot of sponges or sea water :( I sculpted this on Zbrush using mostly dynamesh, i generally adopt a very manual kind of 3d sculpting, avoiding advanced features and just using my wacom tablet to add or carve out material, slicing here and there to add anatomy detail. Honestly, I received many feedbacks from my grandmother Rosanna during the sculpt. Why? Because a tough woman that had a lot of animals and did the butcher for more than 20 years surely is an expert of animal poses and attitudes :D She helped me to find the right balance between the knees and the tail.
