SilverMoonshot the first 3D printed sterling silver shot glass in the world , it really looks that it is out of space!

From early childhood I was fascinated about all the stuff related to space , astronauts , space missions , other planets and things discovered and related to space in general. I have seen all the movies inspired by the space missions to conquer the space , from the first animal to be sent in space , to the first humans to fly around the planet earth in space and be first in space , and to the first step on the moon ever done by a human. In order to make history lots of bad things happened like : exploding rockets due failure in engines, failures in external protective layers , or unplanned natural things like harsh earth atmosphere. Knowing about all the sacrifice that got in , I wanted to make a design that can represent the main ideas of : “first in space” ,” first step on the moon” , “ first moment in the history of human kind” and not last to drink for the moments and the sacrifice that made them written in our history. In space we are not different races , we are only humans.

With all that in mind I started to think about a shot glass made in metal to reflect the overall harsh conditions in space , then I found that a lot of metals are toxic to humans , even if they are used daily , like aluminum that can not be eliminated from human body , and still reading about space things found that silver it is used for purification of water and is and was used in space ships for that and it is used in airplanes and other medical stuff , and to my surprise it is not toxic to humans and it is even called “the doctor” metal because kills : bacterias , microbes , viruses.

Next after finding the right metal I taught how to make the shot glass more in line with the main ideas , first in mind was to make it like a part of a rocked , in my mind looked a bit out of context. So after some more thinking a got to the conclusion to make a pattern inspired by the first step on the moon surface , and try to replicate in an artistic way and 3D printable way of the overall idea. Took in account the fact that silver change aspect over time and that makes it more and more close to the space idea and harsh conditions , and raw metal was the only choice to show that.

SilverMoonshot can be filled with 1.2 oz / 35 ml of your favorite liquid.

Last but not least, I was informed that SilverMoonshot was finished from production phase on the Super Blood Moon day , I did not expect that to happen!

NOTE: The pattern on the silver shot glass SilverMoonshot it is named “moonshot” and it is copyrighted by Grigore Florin alias numarul7. The pattern will be reused in future designs at no planned time. All rights reserved.
