Byte Glossectomy Spoon (Shallow Head)

We designed a spoon for patients who were adversely affected by glossectomy surgeries as part of a research project conducted with patient input. We focused on addressing some of the challenges faced by patients post-operation, namely the impairment of their ability to feed themselves as well as maintaining a semblance of normalcy in the patients' routine. The spoon is specifically designed to allow easy feeding while also maintaining an inconspicuous appearance.
 

Note: We highly recommend that the product be coated in a food safe epoxy or sealant prior to use, as the 3D printing process does not produce a food-safe product due to the inherent nature of the printing process.
