Product Description
Situated in the Andes on the Western edge of Mendoza Province in Argentina, Aconcagua (at 6961m / 22,837') is the the highest mountain in both the Southern and Western hemispheres, and a popular destination for climbers from around the world.

This model encompasses the entire normal climbing route: all the way up the Rio Horcones (Superior), past the mighty western slope rising 2800m (9200') from the top of Playa Chica, through the series of developed camps, and up the northern route. At the south edge of this model are Cerro Tolosa and the Confluencia camp, named for the confluence of the two branches of Rio Horcones. Those branches surround Cerro Mirador, a subpeak visible in front of Aconcagua from viewpoints all the way up the Horcones Valley from the park entrance. The northern portion of the map shows Cerro Cuerno and Zurbriggen, the latter named after the Swiss guide who, in 1897, first summited Aconcagua. On the western edge you'll find Cerro Rico and portions of the Vacas Valley, including the valley leading up to Plaza Argentina, a camp for hikers attempting the eastern route.

TinyMtn models are most affordable in the "Sandstone" and "White Strong and Flexible" materials. This model is in "Sandstone," which is a glued gypsum material. When you receive the model it will be ready for display, though it may smell funny and need some time to air out. "Sandstone" models are much more brittle than "White Strong and Flexible" models, but feel more like light stone. Do not soak it in water, though you can safely seal it with Polycrylic or a similar water-based clear spray sealant. Read more about this popular material here.

These models have been optimized for the above materials, and are not offered in other materials for strength or cost reasons. If you need one in another material, please tinymtnbiz@gmail.com and we'll try to accommodate your request.
