About this Product

This is one part of a 2 part tool designed to drill out axles boxes on 4mm scale ready to run wagons so as to fit shoulderless pin point brass bearings for example to enable easy conversion to P4, EM or fine scale OO wheels. If you wish to buy this jig you will have to buy the other component which is Axle Drilling Jig part 1 4 mm scale. Also you will require the following items 8BA x 3/16" grub screw 1 off 8BA Nut 1 off 6BA Nuts 2 off 6BA Bolt cheese head thread length 12.5mm 1 off 2.1mm dia drill cut down to between 6mm to 7 mm length 1 off Press 8BA nut in to side and fix with superglue this provides the thread for the grub screw which holds the drill bit in place. After cutting the 6BA Bolt down to 12.5mm length screw one 6BA bolt hard up against the top od the bolt then press in to the shaped recess which will take the cheese head and the nut screwed up tight against the head of the bolt. On Axle Drilling Jig part 2 just press the 6 BA nut in place and again use to super glue to fix it in place. In order to use it screw the 2 half's together angle in to the axles the drill fitting in to one box to be drilled out and the other coned end fits into the opposite axle box. Then turn the Part 1 out and use this to drill out the axle box. Once happy with this axle box drilling reverse and do the same to the other side.
