Product Description
In 1990, CountryLink unveiled its new corporate image of blue, white and torsque. This meant the XPT trains then some 8 years old, would receive the new, modern CountryLink livery, along with the new XPLORER sets to follow suit. It also meant all railway stations in NSW serviced by CountryLink trains would receive an upgrade. Station seats, directories, platfrom surfaces, lights and rooms would receive an upgrade. On top of all this, stations would also get new name boards to replace the NSWGR/PTC black and white timber/steel ones prominant at the time.

These CountryLink nameboards were a common sight in NSW until very recent times when they are progressivley being replaced with new, NSW TrainLink style signs following CountryLink's rebranding in 2013.

This model is a 'large' style nameboard. Through extensive reserach, we have established there are 3 standardised sizes of name board. Small, being used for places like Casino, Eungai, Urunga, Sawtell, Taree, etc.
Medium, the most common, used for places such as Lismore, Kootingal, Byron Bay, Mullumbimby, The Rock, Armidale, Wauchope, Kendall, etc.
Large was less common, and used in places such as Coffs Harbour, Murwillumbah, Nambucca Heads, Wagga Wagga etc.

*Please note at this stage the nameboards do not come with text. This is to allow for flexibility between different stations, lines, etc. Decals can easily be created with waterslide decal paper and an inkjet printer. The font used by CountryLink is/was "Times New Roman".

For painting, colours used in the 'box' (where CountryLink logo goes) is a dark or navy blue, posts and support beam underneath the main board are to be painted a sky blue/torsque colour. Main board should be painted in the same colours as the top board.
