Product Description
This model is available in 1/56 as well as 1/100, unlike my other historical tanks.
When the Kliment Vorošilov tank first appeared, it was an unpleasant surprise to the Wehrmacht. Although armed with a 76,2-mm main gun and no more powerful than the T-34, the KV-1 was so heavily armoured compared to anything else on the Eastern front that the most powerful gun on German AFVs at the time, the 75-mm cannon, was rendered ineffective. The Wehrmacht responded with the Tiger I, armed with the now-famous 88-mm cannon, although the Tiger could not be delivered for almost a year. While the KV-1 was quickly displaced as the most powerful tank on the battlefield, it served as the prototype for an entire line of Soviet heavy tanks that gave the USSR the edge in land battles for decades.
