About this Product
This model allows to demonstrate the proof of Archimedes result that the volume of the hemisphere is the volume of the complement of a cone in a cylinder. Archimedes was so proud about this result that he asked it to be inscribed on his tombstone. The hemisphere can be filled with water. After opening the drain, the water flows into the complement of the cone in the cylinder. This is part of a thesis project by Liz Slevkovsky.
