Product Description
Four HO scale wood passenger trucks typical of 1840-65 practices, with rubber springs, equalizer, brakes. From my N scale kit of the Eaton & Gilbert car, 55" wheelbase. After a NY&Harlem car drawing by Henz, 1861. The same truck appears in a photo of an 1850s Jackson & Sharp car and in several Civil War photos of Pennsylvania/USMRR equipment. 2 have the usual slanted top journal box lids, 2 have the flatter style USMRR style.
Requires 33" wheelsets with axles .975 to 1" long.
Wicking in some thin CA glue will strengthen parts.
Because of their fine detail, Frosted Ultra Detail is the preferred material, others will show varying degrees of surface roughness. The strong flexible materials will be crude and may not even print because of the thin sections. WSF and WSFPolished will be rough and lack detail, WSF looks like 200 grit sandpaper.
Clean with alcohol before painting, a cheap ultrasonic cleaner works great. Use toothbrush soaked in Bestine rubber cement remover if particularly greasy. Wick on thin CA glue to add strength. Enamels or acrylics recommended.
