Black Man Grove "Breathless" Edition is a full color 3d printed version of the sculpture by Andrew F. Scott featured on the cover of Terence Blanchard and the E-Collective's 2015 album Breathless. The sculpture combines the clenched fist, tap root structure of the mangrove tree and the symbol of the dove in it's conception. These elements work together to create a symbol of power, resilience peace and collective work. The work is part of the wider Balck Man Grove series by the artist. Andrew F. Scott is an artist living and working in Dallas Texas. He work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. In addition to his studio work he has also completed several permanent public art projects. He is currently an Associate Professor of Art and Technology at the University of Texas at Dallas. His teaching combines tradition sculptural practices with digital fabrication technologies.
