+ Welcome

  Hello Everyone,

The big news for January is that we launched the Shapeways Shops. The Shapeways Shops are a way for you to make money on Shapeways. How does it work? Well first of all you need to open a Shop. You choose a URL, upload yourlogo and decide how much you would like to make on each model (your margin/markup). Once someone buys your model, we print it, ship it, do all the customer service and pay you the margin. The rights to your designs will always remain with you. With the Shapeways Shops you can now have your own factory and sell physical products worldwide. Does this sound like something you want to do? Open your own shop in a few minutes here.

We are really happy with the launch, and all the attention it got, but happier still that one of our members could make over $200 with Shapeways in five days. We hope that this is an early indicator of success and we will do all we can to make all our Shop owners successful.

So lets say you can not 3D model: what is in it for you? Now can buy cutting edge cool sculptures designed by Michael Shaw, Bathsheba Grossman or George Heart.

Or you could buy a Nocturnal: a working ancient instrument that can tell the time using the stars, brought to life again with 3D printing.

And where else could you buy a hellhound, a Gargoyle, a nemesis, a fertility deity, an astronaut, the Firefox 3 beta Robot, a Sudanese Mobius, or a French Dragoon Hat for your minifig?

And $8 for a Penguin, thats a bargain!

Kind regards,

Joris Peels
