+ Welcome

Hello Everyone,

we have so many new things to share with you, that we decided it was time for another newsletter.

First off: you asked us to improve our shipping and we have. We're now shipping with UPS and this means that once we produce your models we can get them to you within two to three days, worldwide. Everyone that orders will now also receive a track and trace email so they can follow their package as it trundles across the globe towards them.

From the time of ordering you still have to count on it taking up to ten working days to hold your model in your hands though. But, this improvement should go a long way towards diminishing the constant mailbox/front door watching while waiting with fraught anticipation for your Shapeways packages.

In addition to this news we also have a new Christmas page, a new Creator and lots more so keep reading and hope to see you on Shapeways.com

Kind regards,

Joris Peels

 christmas

The crunch of snow underfoot and the cold wind on our faces lets us know that, at least here in the Netherlands, winter is coming. With Christmas around the corner we've prepared a special Christmas page for you and have a Christmas contest

We've got some decorations such as a pretty Christmas star, a teeny nativity scene and these very hug-able Santas helpers for you to order. Spread the cheer on Shapeways and beyond. So have a look at our Christmas page and find some really unique presents or join our Christmas contest for some fabulous prizes.

+ Ring Poem

For the holiday season we have added our latest Creator, the Ring Poem. You've all probably played around a little with our Light Poems and have made your own Fruit Confessions, so you are probably familiar with the concept.

In a few minutes you can make your very own personalized napkin ring to brighten up your table(and your guests). The Ring Poems cost between $8 and $9 so they should make for an affordable surprise for those close to you. We hope you enjoy making your very own Ring Poems welcoming people to your dinner with a gift that they can take home to remember the occasion.

+ New tutorials: painting, gluing and viaCAD

macbear

Big thanks to Will Culpepper who made a tutorial showing you how to upload your viaCAD models to Shapeways. Keep those community tutorials coming guys!

In addition to this we now have painting and gluing tutorials live. We can not wait what to see how your painted models will look!

+ Dutch Design Week

Dutch Design Week was a lot of fun. At our busy stand we saw Peter Hermans' Punnik Waistband in action, 3D printed cars, an oillight, and a 3D printed chair. We loved the designers' work and we're excited to see them push the envelope in terms of 3D printing design.
