+ Welcome

Hello everyone!
This month we have a lot of great news for you. We have a huge discount on our new Black Detail material, a new Creator Shape: the Fruit Confession, lots of new tutorials, a Dutch Design Week contest winner and Shapeways member interviews.
We are working hard on: improving the site, shipping, even more new materials and improving the uploading software. Next week we're going to show you how to paint your models!
Suffice it to say it is an exciting time to be a Shapie, and we hope that you guys are excited about being on Shapeways too. If there is anything we can improve just drop me an email.
Kind regards,
Joris

+ New material: Black Detail, 66,6% discount
Right in time for Halloween we have a new material: Black Detail. If you order models in Black Detail before the 19th of October you will get a 66.6% discount on the model. The model will be delivered to you before Halloween on the 31st.

$0.97 cents per cubic centimeter including shipping, yes, we've gone nuts and please do take advantage of that because we're not likely to do this again any time soon.
The material shares the same characteristics as the White Detail and Transparent Detail materials. It looks very different, from a full black to a light grey to a silver, depending on which light you see it in.
It should make for some wonderfully dark character models and will allow very detailed art objects to be made with Shapeways.

+ Fruit Confessions live!
You've probably all become acquainted with our Light Poems already but we have a new Creator shape for you to play with as of today: the Fruit Confession. A Fruit Confession is a bowl that you can shape and personalize. Lots of fun to play with and truly your own unique centerpiece for a dining- or living room.
