It's never too early to prepare your shops for the holiday season! As you can imagine, last year this was the best-selling time for our shopowners. We’re super excited to be partnering with WIRED for their annual pop up store. This year, they’ll be in Times Square from November 18 to December 24, which means thousands of people will get to experience 3D printing awesomeness firsthand. If you’re in NY, definitely stop by for interactive experiences that will surely wow any techie. 

Ceramics is back and better than ever at Shapeways.  We have added new kilns, commandeered some great ceramicists and under their watch, improved the quality of our glaze. Take a look at the difference and try your hand at food safe 3D printing.

The awesomest of apps has just hit the iPad that makes it easy for anyone (yes, anyone) to design their own 3D printed ring.  The iRing3D by Paracloud has an interface that is more like a ‘ring synthesizer’, using the iPad’s sublime touch screen to allow you to draw your ring size and shape with your finger. And of course you can 3D print your designs directly with Shapeways, thanks to integration with the Shapeways API.

Thank you to everyone who came out to see us at DDW! We had an incredible time meeting thousands of community members, designers, artists, and locals. It was quite energizing to hear everyone's excitement about personal manufacturing and 3D printing. After seeing the creative wheels turn among 3D designers and non-techies alike, we're looking forward to the designs inspired by the show.
