+ Frosted Ultra Detail - An Update

This past Friday, we shared our final news about Frosted Detail/Frosted Ultra Detail with the community. FUD/FD is joining our materials portfolio for good!
We've changed the pricing structure for these materials, introducing a $5.00 startup cost while lowering the cubic centimeter cost, to $2.39 for Frosted Detail and $3.49 for Frosted Ultra Detail. This change, while it takes some getting used to, will allow us to offer this material reliably over the long term. Want to weigh in? There's a lively debate on the forum.

For our latest contest all you need to do is take a photograph of Bowie the Bunny in the wild for your chance to win $500 worth of 3D printing from Shapeways. To make it easier, we are going to include Bowie for free in as many packages as possible but you may want to order your own Bowie to make sure you are in the running. The workshop marked the beginning of us not only providing the 3D printing power to help you fabricate your dreams, but the learning tools needed for newbies to get started. A huge thank you to everyone who joined! We're currently regrouping, and thinking about how to make this into a regular part of Shapeways community efforts.

 We’re really excited to announce a name that some of you may be familiar with. Mary Huang, half the brains behind the N12 3D printed bikini, is joining Shapeways as a Product Designer. Mary’s focus will be on expanding content in the Shapeways ecosystem, with an initial focus on our creator platform. Find out more in her intro blog post.
