Without Wernher von Braun and the V2 Rocket, there would not be a Space Program or NASA. Period.

well werhner von braun was NOT the leader of the project, he was a nazi, yes but not responsbile for the production, that was a couple of SS guys and we all know what their method of work was. i agree that the V2 program took a lot of human lives, but to blame the scientist i belive is wrong

@RocketTurtle Oh, I have no problem with the model. It looks quite well done to me. The problem I have is with what the model represents.

@satcharna Well the model is still awesome, you have to admit. :P But I would just pretend he's just some other rocket scientist if that's what you need to do.

@colourfulsalmon And the fact that more people died building his V2 rockets than died from their use as weapons? That interviews with prisoners who worked for him confirmed him as one of the worst slavedrivers in Germany (quite an accomplishment)? That he was enthusiastic about Nazism? The fact that he was significant in the space race doesn't excuse his crimes.

@satcharna He was a prodigy and a pillar in the space race for the USA; also known as the "Father of Rocket Science". I think you need to do some research and broaden your understanding. Rocket Scientist first, compulsorily enlisted Nazi 2nd, or maybe 200th. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wernher_von_Braun

Disappointing that glorifying Nazis is still a thing.
