konsassen, yes, you've ordered an improved version. You will need 4 screws / springs. I used myself screws and springs that I found at hand, but next time I'd order them at C4U (there are screws and springs that are sold separately), I'm not sure that they're M3 though. Actually the tap drill size is 2.5 mm. Any screw (metric, zoll, self-tapping oder irgendwas, das im Kernloch fest sitzt, passt :)
I've ordered one on March 28th and expect the improved V2, right? How many screws / springs will I need? Any idea where to get them? Can I probably use screws /springs from a C4U DIY kit that are leftover?
0624steven, I think that you got the first version (like on the video), because you ordered it before the second release.
I don't have a pdf for stickers, but you can proceed from the size - 73 mm edge length.
stardust4ever, it's designed for M3 screws or anything that fits the tap drill 2.5 mm. I used old pens' springs, but the springs from DYI kits must definitely be better :)
Thanks. I have ordered the updated puzzle. Does it use M3 screws like most other puzzles or do I need to get something different? I usually cannibalize the springs/washers from old puzzles or DIY kits.
So, the second version is uploaded. What has changed:
1. Corrected some mistakes.
2. The mechanics now allows adjustable springs (the first version used only screws).
3. The corner pieces will sit better in their places.
3. As the prototype seemes to me too small, size increased a little bit - that's why the price is a little higher.
Your Pyraminx looks really nice. Have you shared it with the twistypuzzles [dotcom] community yet?
Also, are you still planning to modify/improve your mech? If so, I may wait for the second version. Added to favs.
If you order it in WSF and want it to be black - then yes, you have to dye it. If you want it white - you leave it white. If you order it from Shapeways, it comes as a DYI kit without screws and stickers - only the parts that are 3D-printed (the core and 34 pieces). It still requires some amount of work (threading, sanding). So far I ordered only one kit and have a partly dyed prototype (stickers are coming):

I'm still planning to make improvements in the second version, because this one is not perfect. If you cast and sell it, I don't mind, but do not overfill the market :)
