Dodecahedral sibling of Gyro the Cube.
Same principle, more faces, more rings and more fun ;-)
Made of five nested dodecahedra, each one is limited to rotate about it's own axis.

This is the 6.5cm / 2.5" version, see the Gyro the Forms
Experimental corner stand available here

For tighter clearances it is printed with the hinges out of place. So this model needs a little manual assembly. Each element has two "knobs" which need to be "clicked" into the corresponding "clamps" in the parent element.
It's easiest to start with the inner one and then continue outwards.
And then... rotate away !

IN: 2.52 w x 2.191 d x 2.546 h
CM: 6.4 w x 5.566 d x 6.468 h

Are there any plans to modify this design for less clearance between the spheres and tighter sockets? I just got mine in polished WSF and it's a nice design, but there's so much play that it loses that otherworldly vibe that I was hoping for.

could this ever be printed in metal? in its scale or smaller scale ? if yes, what would be the price?

@virtox all i can see is that the linear design pattern is washed out in some places and the inside pieces wiggle a lot, its not stable i mean.

@danovski11 That is strange. I have not heard of (dis)-assembly problems with this model before. The detail on the material is normally higher without the polishing. Can you see if all hinges are printed ok?

I recived mine 2 days ago, that was fast, but i think i should have chosen a polished plastic cause mat doesn't cut the detail quality. Giro the dodo is great but the spheres arent tight inough to one another, so it friquently disassebles it self :(

Just received mine and it works great! Spins with just a light puff of air. Assembly was easy.

Were do you go from here? I like the ribbing on this model, makes it seem like some kind of ancient/alien device. You should start making these things in full color sandstone.
