Closeup of polished WSF surface

This is a 1/288 Caquot Type M observation balloon from WWI. Both the body and fins are hollow to keep the cost to a minimum. A solid pre-drilled cylinder is present at the bottom and can be adjusted for various mounting systems. Polished WSF gives this model a nice smooth surface.

@J1Peter2Aguilu3D So far it's just an experiment to get a rough cost and to try different interior-drainage methods, but hopefully I'll get a "real" model done some day.

Excellent effort! I have been casting 1/285 (really about the same scale) in foam for a number of years, and always welcome new additions to the models available for my game. "Balloon Busting" is a popular game scenario, and Wings of War dedicated a whole expansion to it. Fires in the Sky uses special incendiary ammo rules applied to balloon attacks. Our clubs will be ordering these.
