About this Product
North Staffordshire Railway 10 ton Goods Brake Van, diagram 11, built c mid 1870s to early 1900s. Model is based on photo of no 60 built in 1874 and 10 ton Brake Van drawing of 1888. Some of these vans lasted into LMS days post 1923.
THIS MODEL IS IN WHITE, STRONG & FLEXIBLE and please note some details may be too fine to print in WSF - it excludes the brake handle for this reason. A new file was uploaded on 16 March to cure a problem in this area. The brake van is also available in Frosted Ultra Detail (FUD), which enables finer detail, and there are pictures of an actual FUD model.
Instructions: Remove any flash with fine scraper & file. Rub roof on flat fine sanding sheet to remove ridges. Add wire handrails and outside handbrake - a handle is provided. Drill holes at dimples. Lamp irons could be made from FB strip. Floor is designed for MJT 00/EM/S4 W-iron units at 9’ 7” wheelbase. Fit grease or oil axleboxes, round base wagon buffers (not incl).
Livery: NSR = goods brown (suggest use GWR Indian Red). LMS = grey. Letters white.
