On April 30, 2013 Holland will welcome it's first male monarch since 1890: King Willem-Alexander.
The Dutch have been celebrating Queensday on April 30, which is the birthday of our previous queen Juliana. On her investiture Queen Beatrix decided to retain the date in honour of her mother and because her own birthday on January 31 was unsuitable for the traditional outdoor festivities. Starting next year Queensday will be Kingsday on April 27, Willem-Alexander’s birthday. The 30th of April 2013 Lex will be king and his wife princess Máxima will become queen of the Netherlands. To celebrate this, opqrstu3D designed the Kingsday Crown.
