The original for this model was a 5/8 scale technology demonstrator that first flew in 1943 for a British fast bomber project (the M39). The M39B flew successfully and apparently had no undesirable handling characteristics. The project was cancelled and the M39B was broken up. The name Libellula comes from a type of dragonfly and was used by Miles for more than one design.

The spherical recess underneath the model is for a 4.5mm (.177") BB.

Revised (16-Jul-2013) with thicker vertical fins and cleaner canopy mesh to reduce printing issues.
