This is a puzzle where your task is to assemble ten identical pieces into a 4 cm diameter ball (same size as a ping-pong or table tennis ball). Disassembly is tricky, unless you try spinning it! Then you will see how it got its name.
This was a difficult puzzle to design (required 6 prototypes), because the angles have to be perfect, and proper exploding depends on the friction between the pieces. As of August 2, 2010, I have redesigned this model so that the pieces are no longer hollow. The pieces still seem to require light sanding of all interior faces in order to explode properly. This is due to the rough surface of "White String and Flexible".
This puzzle was designed by Stephen Chin. In 2010 the wooden version won an award in a puzzle design competition.
