The Northrop 'Jeep' flying wing from 1939, one of a series of flying wing designs Northrop developed during the 1930s and early 40s. The angle of the outer wing panels could be adjusted on the ground so that the most effective control configuration could be determined. This design proved that flying wings were feasible and laid the foundations for the huge YB-35 and YB-49 designs of the mid 1940s.
The spherical recess underneath the model is for mounting it on a 4.5mm (.177") BB.
Revised (5/6-Aug-2013) with more accurate canopy and other changes.
