Version 1.5

This is a replacement for the tailfin assembly from FOC deluxe Starscream, featuring 2 movable fins on swivel joints. This allows the fins to be adjusted for different looks in jet mode, as well as fold flat against Starscream's back in bot mode.

This model has been successfully tested in White, Strong and Flexible. With some modification and the use of thin wire, Frosted Ultra Detail and Detail material can also be used.

@Kasdarack As this model is built for WSF, it has nubs on the hinges to lock the fins to the base. Unfortunately these will not survive assembly in FUD. You will need to drill a channel through the length of the hinge (hence removing said nubs) so as to allow the insertion of a wire for pinning, as you mentioned.

@fakebusker83 I'm not a sculptor or a ninja with the Dremel, but I am not kitbash illiterate either. Is the wire for pinning the parts together? I should be able to handle that.

@Kasdarack I never recommend Detail as I feel it's never much sharper than WSF / WSFP. I'd suggest Frosted Ultra Detail though if you're ready to do some work for it.

@fakebusker83 Do you think these would lose too much detail in polished and I should go detail instead? Also you're awesome.

Rear fins painted and opened. Be honest, it looks like the game version! Soon in WoC Episode 5 on YouTube! Very clean design, works fine. I wish HASBRO would be so precise...

a closeup of the new fins in WSF. I would recommend FUD for more precision. The fins open and close as in the game FoC. Very precise design, Ariel is one of the best! Will star in my stop motions @
