When my fiance Melissa and I started planning our wedding last September we knew it wasn’t going to be cookie cutter. We decided to include some personal additions that we just couldn’t get elsewhere to make the day our own and at the same time save money. Here’s one example. Instead of buying bouquets for the wedding we decided to use our combined talents to create something that was not only skirted the norm but would also last quite a long time. We combined 3D printed parts and crocheted flowers to create a rather unique bouquet for the bridesmaids. Good for Valentines Day, birthdays, anniversarys, and who knows maybe even other Maker weddings.

@ChristianA I've uploaded a "lacy" version of my digital rose here. Got a couple printed in white and coral and they look pretty cool! They were kind of hard to photograph because of their shape so checkout the multiple angles.

@ChristianA That's a great idea! I'll have to look into that when I get a chance.

@thenewhobbyist That's really great. I wonder if you could model some digital roses with a "crocheted" texture in coral strong & flexible to achieve the same sort of effect. Know what I mean? Would be an amazing alternative for weddings.

@ChristianA Yep they were printed on my Makerbot Thing-o-Matic. Then I used white Rustoleum Ultimate spray paint which bonds really well with the ABS I used to print them.

@thenewhobbyist This is an amazing idea! It looks like you printed the roses yourself in the pictures you're showing right?
