A bit bigger. These are 18 gauge, and the standard piercing is usually 22g. That being said, if your holes have stretched at all (like by wearing dangle earrings), these will probably fit. All the people I've know who've worn them had only a standard piercing initially. I also carry a fishhook version of this model, which will certainly fit a small piercing (http://www.shapeways.com/model/141200/flora-earrings-fishhooks.html). You have to add the hooks yourself, but they're easy to come by.
