UPDATE - 2013/01/25: It works! I was skeptical that I could reach the necessary flange focal distance without hitting the internals of the camera, but it does seem to just barely clear them. The threads are not perfect, but they are oversized - and with several careful installations of a D-Mount lens, they will be forged in to a good shape.

UPDATE - 2013/03/05: A user has let me know that the adapter does not allow their 13mm f/0.9 lens screw in far enough to achieve infinity focus. This may be unavoidable with faster lenses with larger bodies, however, I will see if a solution is possible and update the model if it is. See their comment at the bottom of this page.



I am updating the design to include more space for the flange of the lens - right now, the adapter can accommodate a lens with a flange diameter of approx. 20mm. Both of my D-Mount lenses were larger than this, however they both had an easily removable ring around the flange which allowed them to be mounted properly.

DISCLAIMER: I have only tested this on an Olympus E-PM1, as it is the only Micro 4/3rds camera I have. It may not work on other m4/3rds cameras... I've never looked at one closely. At this point, I would only order this adapter if your are looking to experiment, as I am still refining it. Obviously, it also vignettes heavily. This is a mostly unavoidable feature of using such a small lens on this camera



COMMENT FROM A USER OF THIS ADAPTER: I have tried this adapter. It fits well however the lens does not end up recessed enough with in the camera, in other words, it is not close enough to the sensor to achieve infinity focus. Also, the rear mount of the lens cannot screw all the way in because of the body features of my lens, which is a kern paillard 13mm f/0.9. The diameter of the rear of the lens body (not rear lens mount) contacts the lens adapter, and does not let the lens screw in any further due to this. So overall, deeper recession into the camera and a less narrow, perhaps flat end where the lens attaches to the adapter, and this adapter may work with infinity focus. Btw I tried this adapter using a kern paillard 13mm f/0.9 and a panasonic gh2.
