the guns are already separate pieces so it would be simple to take the barrels and replace them.

Isn´t it possible to print the fighter whitout the gunbarrel and replace it with plastic or metal rods? I did so with some tank models and the so I don´t have to be so carefull while playing.

@VicSage That is odd all the same. Frosted detail usually looks so much better than that. I agree with you on the guns actually, but im limited by the minimum thicknesses of the material, they cannot be made any thinner

I initially ordered in Frosted Ultra Detail, but Shapeway cancelled that because of stabilty concerns, so I reordered in Frosted Detail. And dont't worry about that gun. Like I said, it makes it a bit sleeker and more similar in appereance to the designs (of which there are many, no one ever seemed quite sure about size and length of hull, engines, guns, etc.) that I favor. So much in fact that I will replace the standard guns on the next one that I plan to order.

Sorry about the gun, but which material was that?

Just finished mine. Nice model, although I'm not a big fan of the Material. I had to replace the lasercannons because I broke the starboard one while painting it. Not such a big loss, i actually prefer the thinner plasticcard rods due to the sleeker look.

Thank you

@Gosric : Absolutely, go ahead and post it. I already shown it on the FFG and A few good Turns forum.

would you mind if i posted that on a forum? some people are curious about how the E Wing looks and your paint job is excellent

Hmmm. I can probably thin down the panel lines and adjust the detail a little now i look at it, but things like the gun thicknesses cannot be helped. It is unfortunate but material limitations are unavoidable. You did a great job by the way

Just received my E-Wing starfighter, very nice model, the design is actually flawless, the only thing that still is not up to do the model design justice is the Frosted Ultra Detail material. The picture shows the E-Wing next to a X-Wing from FFGs game - just for scale reverence.

@usetheforce yes, it is actually processing right now.

Will you be making an E-class fighter wing 3-pack?
