Dock-it for iPhone 5

Dock your iPhone 5 and give it a spot on your desk, table or nightstand!
Dock-it holds, syncs and charges your iPhone 5 to prepare it for your next journey.

Dock-it makes use of your new Apple Lightning Connector to USB cable. Simply snap it in and lock it with the Dock-it tray (separately available and included when you order the set: dock + tray)

ATTENTION: The Dock-it tray is needed for this product and available here:
Dock-it tray
When you order your Dock-it for the first time, then always order the set: dock + tray.

Dock-it is usable vertical and horizontal so you can do FaceTime and watch video’s with ease. The design has special airtunnels inside to amplify the phones speaker and makes sure you have good access to your phones microphone.

The Apple Lightning to USB cable is not included, it works with the one that came with your phone. You can also buy an extra one to use it specially with Dock-it.

Dock-it is manufactured by innovative 3D-printing in tough but lightweight polyamide. The surface has a fine texture. The product will be shipped in basic Shapeways packaging. Some powder residue from the 3D-printing process may be found on the product itself; if this is the case, it should be easy to clean off with small tooth sticks & brushes. It might be wise to clear the airtunnels with compressed air to operate optimal for speaker & mic access. For further information & support contact the Shapeways customer service.

Dear @gainasp, unfortunately the black material doesn't meet our quality standards yet that we envision for Dock-it.

Isn't it possible to order in black? I would mount it in my car, and white would look bad compared to the rest of the console...

Just ordered mine!

@thefederal Great to hear you like the product! We’ve noticed about the cable tabs as well, they are now adjusted in the design. Thanks for your positive feedback & enjoy your Dock-it!

I received my Dock-it about a week ago and I love it. I did have a couple comments: -The little tabs to hold in the cable were too tight for me, I had to trim each one -I'd suggest a larger angle, maybe another 5-10deg tilted back. It's a bit too vertical for my liking.

@RemivanOers Ah, good call. That lightning connector definitely changes things a bit from the old connector design, and does not let go of the phone easily :) Thanks for the additional info!

@erinautomatic Thanks! Yes, I'm very happy with the printed results! We've thought about the cavity, but desided that's not the way to go. Adding weight would make sense if you then can take the phone out with just one hand. We tested that idea, and it appears to do that you need around 550 gram to compensate the strong lock of the Lightning connector in to the phone. Holding this dock's thin back base while undocking works just as fine, and allows the refined and thin design. We did make a very small cavity at the bottom so people can add a normal piece of double sided tape, if they want the dock to stay in place. Just like we did for the remote dock design. We think Dock-it is one of the nicest docks for iPhone 5 available & rapid manufacturing is the way to go because of this design's internal airtunnels! Thanks again!

This looks awesome! Wondering if you've printed it yet? Would be interesting to design a cavity in the bottom where a weight of some sort could be inserted for extra "heft" :)
