Amazingly, the thickness is actually less than 1mm - looking back I'm surprised I was allowed to try and print it at all. One of the two I had printed is slightly distorted, I assume this was just from handling while still green. I've had forms very like these printed in WSF and they feel really fragile, but these are totally solid, and a really nice colour too, some of my favourite pieces, and the biggest things I ever printed in metal. I think you're exactly right about the toroidal shape making it strong enough - it wasn't a conscious choice to make it this way, but I'm glad it worked. Thanks!

Beautiful! May I ask how thick you make your stainless steel models? From these pictures and the bounding box size I would guess the walls are around 1mm or even less. Probably you defy the 3mm wall thickmess limitation by the torodial shape here, am I right?
