00-gauge ex-GNR/LNER Ivatt N1 0-6-2 tank engine body only. The locomotive has been modelled on a British Railways-era saturated boiler example no. 69434. In the era modelled this locomotive had had most of its condensing equipment removed.
This body has been designed to fit a Hornby/Dapol/Mainline/Airfix Gresley N2 chassis. Some minor modifications will be required.
To complete you will need: a Gresley N2 motorised chassis (Hornby/Dapol/Mainline or Airfix), handrail knobs and wire, whistle, safety valves, smokebox door dart. You will also need to fashion steps from thin styrene sheet. The model will also need to be prepared, painted and transfers applied. Cosmetic non-working buffers are included on a seperate sprue but these can be substituted for sprung brass versions (available from
Alan Gibson) if preferred.
