These are O Scale (1:48, 1:43, 1/4 inch scale, 7mm scale) insulators as used on high-tension power towers. Correct profile for typical US practice. No longer will O Scale modelers have to use beads! . The central hole will accommodate 0.039 wire. After mounting on the wire, slowly spin these in a drill and touch with super fine sandpaper (400-800 grit) to clean up printing lines. . Because of the fine sprues connecting these together, Frosted Detail and Frosted Ultra Detail are the best materials. The parts in the photo were printed in Frosted Detail. However, a customer recently ordered these in Frosted Detail and Shapeways would not print them. Shapeways sends each model through some software that determines whether it can be printed. Sometimes that software goes haywire. I have printed these in Frosted Detail. If Shapeways will not print these in Frosted Detail, try Frosted Ultra Detail. Sorry for any inconvenience. Thank You.
