Or you could always just make a loop around regular button and then button it up, works for every diameter earplug cord. Also I'm pretty suspicious if this will hold the cord well...

Agreed with Christian also. This would also allow for "deployment" on all pieces of clothes without having to change out the buttons on the whole wardrobe ;-)
