This is a little clip that covers the camera on your iMac when you don't want to be spied upon. The microphone is not obstructed. It clips on easily and can easily be removed or just slid to the side. The cover fits generation 6 iMac machines.

The idea behind it is that if you like to work with your underwear wrapped around your head at home like I do most of the time... and don't want some ratters to record a video of that and post it on YouTube, then you'd be on the safe side with this covering the lens of your webcam. Because let's be honest. When you are concentrating on your screen, would you really notice the light of your webcam come on?

@wellspring Thanks for that! Here you go . :) I have not had a chance to do a test print yet but since it's the same model as this one (only shortened and with the microphone hole re-centered) there should be no problems.

@BITGEM The top spine has an inside length of 28mm, for the mid-2011 imac it should be 23mm. Other than that, I don't think anything else needs to change. It's worth mentioning that several security experts have designed tools that let them activate the iSight without turning the light on. So this isn't undue paranoia.

@wellspring Sure! If you give me the exact measurements I can make it for you.

This is a great idea! any chance you could make one for the mid 2011 iMac? Your clip fits except that the screen is about half a cm thinner (I can give exact measurements if you want).

This is the kind of creative little tinkery thing that 3D printing is great for. I know a lot of people think its for super-complex models only, but this is great. Who could make this in their own home without 3D printing? Love it.
