With its internally fluted design, this experimental 3D printed trumpet mouthpiece manages to be the best of both worlds: Clear in the higher register, and rich on the lower pitches. With a medium cup and lip width, similar to that of the venerable Bach 7C, the Tri-Wing mouthpiece is well suited to students and professionals alike.

@spanky987 I don't play the trumpet myself; I play the horn. (http://www.shapeways.com/model/790451/fluted-french-horn-mouthpiece.html?li=productBox-search) However, I took both this and the MK2 out to some of my trumpet-playing friends, and I paraphrased what they told me as the description. You ought to check out the Mark II trumpet mouthpiece as well; I found it to be easier to maintain, etc. Eventually I ought to make a video or something of the difference in sound, but I haven't the equipment nor the time to do so yet. I can conclude that this is an experimental piece to see how viable 3D printing is for mouthpiece design; it's interesting how 3D printing stainless steel mouthpieces is actually cheaper than their commercial counterparts, and I intend to develop a framework for an easier way to buy your own personalized mouthpieces.

I would buy if it does what you say it does (me, having played the trumpet for 5 years, would love to see how it works before considering)

I would too, once I get enough money to buy one myself. I'm interested to see if the design actually works, because I studied mouthpieces quite a bit prior to the design. I'd want to hear it in silver, though it's rather expensive...
