Four replacement underframes for the Bachmann Old Timer N scale bobber caboose. Two (R24a) have conventional passenger car steps, two (R24b) have cast steel tender style steps (added after about 1900) and are slightly longer. Helps turn a clunker into an accurate model of a common prototype. Based on Pennsylvania, Central Pacific, NYC, Ma&Pa, and NYO&W examples first used about 1875 and lasting into the 1930s. See J H White's American Railroad Freightcar, page 414 for an early example. Requires wheelsets with .540" axles (MT and others). Starter holes are located for wire railings and MT couplers (not included). MicroTrains caboose end railings, part 49950905, can be attached with minimal filing to the end beams.

Because of their small size and fine detail, Frosted Ultra Detail is the prefered material. Clean with alcohol before painting. Use toothbrush soaked in Bestine rubber cement remover if particularly greasy. Enamels or acrylics recomended.
