This "sprue" contains 10 large (HO scale 32 x 26") exterior light fixtures, with diffusers, 12 small (HO Scale 15" x 15") exterior light fixtures with diffuser. Both have cavities that accept SMD LEDs (I use 603s from LEDBaron and have lots of room to spare). These could also be used in S or O scale to represent smaller fixtures. Also includes 8 HO scale models of surveillance cameras with .017 holes to receive wire mountings. We specify "Frosted Ultra Detail" for best results as these are pretty fine Preparation: I use a an ultrasonic cleaner to remove excess resin from the printing process, but you could gently wash in warm water with dish soap. I then gently brush the parts with household cleanser to remove any remaining sticky residue. I've been air brushing a thin coat of primer or final color (if dark) to get a good look at the surface. If there is any remaining resin or if there is any visible stair stepping (depends on the orientation Shapeways printed) it can be removed by gently rubbing the part against a piece of #400 sandpaper on a piece of glass. Assembly: The light fixtures can be mounted flush to a building using the support at the base or you can use the .017 hole (drill it out to .020 or .025 if you like) above the support to insert a wire (brass, steel, phosphor bronze) for stand off installation or for a light pole in a parking lot. I use CA to glue the LED into the cavity: be sure to paint the inside an opaque color to prevent light bleed. Then carefully trim the diffuser (sand or use needle files if necessary - extra diffusers are on the sprue in case you break one or two) and glue with 4 small drops of CA. The cameras have .017 holes in their bases. I use .019 brass wire from DA for brackets.
